- Situated 45 km south of Kuantan. Pekan is the royal capital of Pahang. During the Sultan of Pahang's birthday in October, the town is celebrated with hive of activities. The beautiful design Malay styled Palace can be seen here. The State Museum and the Silk Weaving Centre are located here. The State Museum exhibits many collection of historical artefacts, glasswares and ceramic wares many are from China.
