- TAMAN NEGARA (NATIONAL PARK)

- Situated far north near the border of Pahang-Kelantan.
- This is Malaysia's National Park, reputed as one of the world's oldest tropical rain forests. It has been gazetted as the forest reserve and conserved as a symbol of nature. Within the park, there is a mountain Gunung Tahan 2,190 metre high. It is of particular interest to the mountaineers. The forest also has numerous rivers which have various breed of fresh water fish. Start Kuala Tembeling near Jerantut, south of the park, followed by a boat ride to Kuala Tahan where there is the park's administrative centre. Do not wander alone in the park.
