Situated
at Jalan Tun Syed Sheh in Georgetown. - This
is the place where Captain Francis Light first
set foot in 1786. Facing the Straits sea, it was
originally a wooden fortress and later
reconstructed into a stone fortress in 1804 by
convicts. One still can see the old cannons which
used to guard the fortress. There are public park
and playground in the area.
