Situated
14 km southwest of Kangar. - Facing the Straits sea, sitting on the estuarine delta of the Sungai Perlis, it is a fishing town with primarily fishing industry. Seafood is popular here especially crabs and prawns. The local laksa also known as curried vermicelli is also a delicacy. It is also an important gateway to the Langkawi Island of Kedah, Phuket Island of Thailand and many neighbouring countries' villages and islands.
