- GOMANTONG CAVES/BIRD'S NESTS

- Situated at about 30 km south of Sandakan.
- This is a popular caves and home to million swiftlets whose make their nests here. It is also a famous place for bird's nests hunters which harvest the bird's nests believed by the Chinese to have some medicinal value. They come to the caves twice a year with long bamboo ladders and climb as high as 90-100 metres to collect the bird's nests off the wall on the caves.
