MALAYSIA STATES AND FEDERAL TERRITORIES

Peninsular (or West) Malaysia staddles the equator, stretching from Thailand in the north to Singapore in the south. To the east, 600km (370 miles) across the South China Sea, is East Malaysia, comprising the states of Sarawak and Sabah in the northern part of Borneo.
