BUTTER ALMOND OAT BISCUITS

Ingredients:-

140 g butter
115 g sugar
1 tbsp treacle or golden syrup
115 g self-raising flour, sifted
¼ tsp salt
170 g quick-cooking oats
55 g chopped almonds
55 ml boiling water with 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Method:-

  1. Cream butter, sugar and syrup till fluffy. Mix in the flour, salt, oats, and almonds.
  2. Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in the boiling water. Add to the creamed mixture and mix to form a stiff dough. Chill in refrigerator for ½ hour.
  3. Divide dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a walnut-sized ball, flatten a little and place on a greased tray leaving space to spread well. Bake @ 150°C for 20-30 mins.
