BUTTER
ALMOND OAT BISCUITS
Ingredients:-
140 g butter
115 g sugar
1 tbsp treacle or golden syrup
115 g self-raising flour, sifted
¼ tsp salt
170 g quick-cooking oats
55 g chopped almonds
55 ml boiling water with 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method:-
- Cream butter, sugar and syrup till fluffy. Mix in the flour, salt,
oats, and almonds.
- Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in the boiling water. Add to the creamed
mixture and mix to form a stiff dough. Chill in refrigerator for ½
hour.
- Divide dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a walnut-sized
ball, flatten a little and place on a greased tray leaving space to spread
well. Bake @ 150°C for 20-30 mins.
