The People’s Republic of China is the most populous nationon earth.
Over 1.2 billion people live in China, that means every
fifth person in the world is Chinese. About 20 percent of
the population live in the towns, to curb further
movements into towns, a restriction has been put on
migration to the cities. China is a country of many
people where more than 90 percent of the population are
Han Chinese, the remaining include 55 national minorities
who differ fundamentally in their customs, traditions,
languages and culture from the Han Chinese.
The government
has tried to introduce strict population control for the
Han Chinese, every family should only have one child. The
minorities have been exempted from this strict population
control.
