Castle Peak, some interesting places there are :

  • Laichikok Amusement Park which had been entertaining people for decades and is one of the world’s few places where you can enjoy Chinese opera and ice skating in  the same compound.
  • Sung Dynasty Village, is a recreation of part of a village that existed in China 1,000 years ago. Everything in theplace has been made exactly  as it was in olden times, from the wineshop to the"bank".The village’s impressarios stage special performances for visitors that include a traditional wedding ceremony and kung  fu demonstration.

  • Dragon Garden, is a traditional Chinese garden, built by a wealthy Hong Kong businessman, and comprises grottoes, ponds, a neo-imperial mausoleum and a 15 metres sculptures of a dragon lying half submerged in a pond. Many of the plant in this garden were imported from China.

  • Pei Tu Temple is dedicated to a character of Chinese mythology who was a monk but not a totally honest one, and was forever getting into trouble. One night  he stayed with a family and in the morning took off  with a prized golden status. On one side of the gateway of Pei Tu Temple is an inscription stating : "There is no gate in this gateway because we do not want to keep people out" On the other side of the gateway is another message saying that the temple is always clean because no one ever leaves any trash lying around, a gentle hint for visitors and worshippers.

  • Lau Fau Shan, a huge fishmarket near Yuen Long.  Here you’ll find a restaurant
    with an entryway and walls decorated with thousands of oyster shell, each about 13-15 cm long.



  • Kat Hing Wai Village, there are 400 people living in this village all with the same surname. Built in the 1960s, it is a fortified village with walls 16 metres thick, guard houses on its four corners, arrow slits for fighting off attackers, and a moat. Visitors may enter the village for a nominal fee.
