Museum
This
famous museum was built in 1887 and houses an
amazing collection of Asian artefacts, in
particular the Haw Par Jade Collection. You can
also see examples of Peranakan culture, including
fine furniture, porcelain and silverware. One of
the museum's highlights is a three-dimensional
reconstruction of the history of Singapore from
sleepy sea town to thriving city. It is open from
09:00 to 17:00 (closed on Mondays). Allow 3 to 4
hours to see everything. Guided tours for small
groups are available each morning from Tuesday to
Friday.
