This is the holiest of all Buddhist Religious days during the year, marking the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Lord Buddha. As on Magha Puja, temples throughtout the country are crowded with people who listen to sermons by revered monks, and in the evening there is a solemn candlelit proceesion around the main monastery building.
